Catalunya Film Commission returns to FOCUS to present their locations, filming incentives and co-host a daily Mediterranean Aperitif!

Carlota you attended FOCUS 2016. What brings you and the Catalunya Film Commission back to FOCUS this year?

Unlike other European audiovisual markets, FOCUS is especially aimed at showcasing incentives and production solutions to filmmakers and producers. It represents an excellent opportunity for film commissions to provide specific solutions for producers interested in shooting in our territory, both in terms of incentives and locations and production services

What in particular will you be promoting about filming in Catalunya on your stand at FOCUS this year?

Apart from a 20% tax rebate available for international productions, we’ll present the wealth and variety of locations in Catalonia, where you can shoot snow in the mountains in the morning and a sunny beach in the afternoon, plus first-class audiovisual professionals and companies with a passion for filmmaking and a commitment to work at the highest possible quality standards.

 What was the most common question you got from producers at FOCUS last year about Catalunya as a filming destination?

 “Are there any incentives for international productions in Catalonia?”

 In a sentence, how would you describe FOCUS to a producer thinking of attending FOCUS for the first time?

 A one-stop shop where they can gather information about incentives, locations and production services available on a national and international level

How do you like the FOCUS venue, exhibition layout, organisation and facilities?

The Business Design Centre in Islington is quite a central location with the perfect size to host panels and presentations and visit exhibitors’ booths. It creates a friendly atmosphere where it is easy to make new contacts
