FOCUS on SKILLS & TRAINING

creative-skillset-trainee-finder

Increasingly, most people in the Creative Screen Industries are employed as freelancers; they simply move from one contract to another. Equally, with the explosion in the volumes of production, particularly in film and High End TV, the demand for their skills is far greater than ever before. And there is now a concern about the numbers of people with the right skills available to cover the current level of production. It would seem there are simply not enough people to go around.

How we can attract new talent with the right skills to the industries and what are the types of training being offered to both professionals and people just joining? How do we ensure that the entry process reflects a diversity and inclusion strategy within the industries? Whose responsibility is it to ensure freelance professionals in particular, receive the on-going training they require? Do we now need a complete re-think of our training strategies across the screen industries?
