fouad-challaFouad Challa, Moroccan producer and film maker, was from a young age attracted to the arts and the image. It came naturally to him to study at UCLA, California making him one of the first Moroccan graduates of this school. In 2001 he founded Dreamaker Productions and decided to collaborate with Moroccan filmmakers by producing them. Among others, Mohamed Cherif Tribak with the short film 30 ANS and Mohamed Mouftakir with the PEGASE feature film that was selected in many festivals and received seven awards at the National Tangier Film Festival in 2010.

Fouad Challa has also carried out his own projects such as the short film LE PRINCE DE OUARZAZATE or the documentary THE MAGIC OF ESSAOUIRA, entirely in English. He was chosen to direct a spot for the FIFA with the subject of coexistence that was aired during the football World Cup in 2014.

As executive producer, he shares his experience and his team with many national and international productions. In fifteen years, he ran more than 200 productions with prestigious clients including BBC, Arte, FIFA and National Geographic. For his work on the documentary CIA Confidential: Pakistan Undercover he was awarded an Emmy Award, receiving recognition from a festival celebrating the most outstanding television’s works worldwide.

Now in 2016, as the elected president of the Marrakech Film Commission, Fouad Challa continues to provide invaluable expertise and resources to International productions in Morocco.
