Sustainability takes centre stage at the FOCUS Green Zone
Sustainability will play a major role at FOCUS 2017 through the Green Zone, an area dedicated to addressing the environmental impact of the production industry. With the help of AdGreen and BAFTA’s Albert, the Green Zone will showcase eco-friendly companies and offer advice to production professionals about lowering their carbon footprint.
The current list of confirmed Green Zone exhibitors includes: Taylor Construction Plant, BOC Gases, JB Locations and Sunbeam Studios. A drinks reception will also take place to connect attendees with professionals at the forefront of sustainability.
Jo Coombes of AdGreen explains: “building on the sustainable production session we took part in last year, I’m really excited about coming back to FOCUS and co-hosting the Green Zone along with Aaron Matthews from BAFTA’s Albert. We’ve expanded our resources in the last 12 months and have more great suppliers to talk about. I’m looking forward to meeting more people interested in greener production and helping them to reduce their impact on the environment with some simple changes.”
Aaron Matthews of Albert adds: “action on environmental sustainability requires a cooperative approach; collaboration between teams, companies and sectors. I am delighted that Albert will be part of FOCUS 2017, what better place to have this discussion than at a meeting place designed to unite and facilitate industry creativity and progress.”
A variety of sustainability themed sessions will also be taking place on both days of the FOCUS event.
FOCUS is the only European audiovisual event to offer content aimed at all the creative screen industries and it is the only UK event to bring in film commissions, locations providers and production service companies from over 50 countries.
