FOCUS talks to Tracy Rusbridge of Jockey Club Venues

Jockey Club Venues offers an outstanding portfolio of 15 racecourses in some of the most beautiful urban and rural locations nationwide. We spoke to Tracy Rusbridge who will be representing The Jockey Club at this year’s FOCUS event.

Tracy, you attended FOCUS 2016. What brings you back this year?

To promote our venues as filming locations and we feel that the attendees of FOCUS are the right audience.

What is the most common question you receive from producers about your locations and facilities?

“Can we film a horse race!?” – it’s not as easy as one might think, in fact it’s much easier to convert our facilities into an airport lounge for example.

You offer great scale and flexibility for productions including, locations, unlimited unit base parking, catering, production offices, storage rooms, etc. Can you give me an example or two of a production that has used multiple facilities and how that worked?

Me Before You in 2015 – we were used for several scenes including an airport, a racecourse (but not actually racing), a restaurant and a car park. We also accommodated the unit base and the costume hair and make-up. More recently for Eddie The Eagle, we depicted the arrivals section at Heathrow and again we were used for the unit base and accommodated the extras in one of our halls where they also had their hair and make-up done.

In a sentence, how would you describe FOCUS to a producer who’s thinking of attending the event for the first time?

FOCUS is a great event to visit for all your production needs and contacts.

How do you like the FOCUS venue, exhibition layout, organisation and facilities?

The venue is easy for access and public transport with a great layout, particularly for having all the UK offices in the same place.

Thank you Tracy, I look forward to seeing you and the Jockey Club Venues team at FOCUS.

FOCUS 2017 will take place at London’s Business Design Centre, December 5th and 6thTo register your attendance for the event, click here.
