Barry Bassett – Managing Director, VMI Camera Rental

VMI Managing Director with 30 years of Broadcast experience and an MBA from Imperial College.
A sustainability advocate, Barry has won much acclaim and recognition for his work on sustainability for the UK TV Industry. In November 2021, Barry, as Managing Director of VMI, won the ‘Hero of Net Zero’ award for small businesses at the international COP 26 climate symposium by the UK Government.
Barry sits on the board of ASPEC, the Association of Studio and Production Equipment Companies and the Park Royal Business Group. He is also part of the Bank of England decision maker panel and chaired the trailblazer group to design and implement the UK’s first Camera Technician Apprenticeship standard.
