Supervising Location Manager

After leaving university under something of a cloud, Bill worked variously in building restoration and the London Auction Trade before drifting into the film industry via the rapidly expanding pop video business during the mid 1980’s. In 1987, more by luck than judgement, Bill negotiated and won a contract to provide the transport on a film shooting entirely on location in Greece, and set off across Europe with a rag tag collection of vehicles and fellow reprobates, where he cut his teeth in feature production and never looked back.  A Head of Department since 1991, Bill’s career in locations effectively mirrors the increasing scale of productions that gradually began to be based in the UK – when Bill  started out the location department was little more than a two man band offshoot of the production office, and he has since watched it evolve into a standalone department of its own.  A widely experienced and well travelled Location Manager who’s CV includes projects filmed on every continent except  the Americas, Australasia and Antartica, Bill now runs location teams that can number as many as ten or fifteen contracted personnel and is often responsible for budgets running into the low millions.
