David joined Taylor James in 2007 and is responsible for VFX Supervision, studio workflows, pipeline development, internal and external software development, photography supervision, staff training, and research and development.
David tackles the most technical of challenges with a keen artistic eye and works with the wider team to devise and execute creative solutions. He has a strong background in both art and coding, and is continually developing and improving our studio tools to enhance CGI pipelines, drive efficiency, and enhance creative output across the group. He has worked on projects for Ford, Nissan, Vertu, Motorola, Sunday Times Magazine, Huawei, Google, and Shell among others. David is a passionate photographer—he travels across the globe on shoots and works closely with our photographic partners.
He has a degree in Computer Animation from the University of Portsmouth with a First Class Honours Degree. When he’s not working, he can be found throwing himself off waterfalls in his kayak, snowboarding down a mountain, or rock-climbing up it. Recently Dave introduced his adventure sports film FUSE at the prestigious Banff Mountain Film & Book Festival where it was nominated for the Best Mountain Film Award.
