Deepak is one of the UK’s leading producers with his name on a list of several award-winning titles. Deepak began his career at children’s entertainment and media company HIT Entertainment in London in 1996 as Financial Controller at the tender age of 24. The company went on to produce a series of well-known shows including Brambly Hedge, Kipper the Dog and Percy the Park Keeper as well as developing its own properties including the phenomenally successful Bob the Builder. In 2000, Deepak was seconded to Los Angeles and helped launch Bob the Builder and Angelina Ballerina into the US home entertainment market as well as later overseeing the company’s acquisition of a number of leading global titles such as Barney the Dinosaur, Thomas & Friends, Guinness World Records and Pingu.

After HIT was acquired by Apax Partners for £489m in 2005, Deepak left the company to join the board of Molinare, one of the UK’s leading post-production facilities. Deepak would later serve as Chief Financial Officer and then Commercial Director with specific responsibility for film & TV investment. During Deepak’s tenure, Molinare invested in over 40 films including Moon and The King’s Speech, the latter of which going on to become one of the most successful British films of all time and winning the Academy Awards for Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actor and Best Original Screenplay as well as several other leading accolades.

Deepak has since developed this enviable track record as a producer and financier, co-founding production company Omeira Studio Partners in 2013 and financing First Reformed, written and directed by Paul Schrader (writer of Raging Bull and Taxi Driver) and starring Ethan Hawke and Amanda Seyfried. First Reformed premiered as the opening film of the Venice Film Festival 2017 and has since won over 50 awards as well as being nominated for Best Original Screenplay at the Academy Awards in 2019.
