James Allan

James Allan has recently been appointed Head of Corporate Banking FX having previously been Head of UK Cash Management, providing specialist cash management, liquidity and mobile payment solutions to large corporate clients.
James is well known in the payments industry and was recognised in the 2016 ‘Payments Power 10’ list of contributors to innovation in global payments. An early adopter of technology, James is a strong proponent of Barclays’ digital strategy, leading on Barclays’ initative to bring digital awareness to clients and colleagues in Corporate Banking
Since joining Barclays in 2000, James has worked in Barclays Investment Bank and Barclays Group in various coverage roles for clients based in the US and Europe. Following 3 years at Barclays Global Investors delivering investment solutions in Europe for institutional clients, James was Head of Cash Management and Global Corporates for Barclays Ireland, building out our product platform and driving growth in the MNC and Irish domestic client segments.
A passionate advocate of diversity, he is also Co-Chair for Barclays’ LGBT Employee Network Spectrum in the UK/Europe and plays a key role in driving forward the focus on inclusion at Barclays, with our clients, and in the broader community.James has an Executive MBA (Distinction) from Cass Business School, City University and BA (Hons), Modern Languages from the University of Bristol.
