Kritika Kumar – Chief Executive, Recce the World
Kritika Kumar is a VR Producer and the Chief Executive Officer of Recce The World Technologies.
Kritika’s fascination with Multimedia Storytelling and technologies that enable it, began at Indiana University Bloomington, with her first photography and radio class. Through audio-visual storytelling, her professors opened her up to a new country, a new culture, and an entirely different way of life. It helped her understand that despite outward differences, everyone reacted to the emotion of a well-told story in the same way.
It grew into a passion soon after, and she became a Founding Member and Senior Producer at American Student Radio, the first student broadcasting radio station across America. Her accent was different, as were her past experiences and it all moulded into a beautiful learning experience.
She moved back to India in 2014, after almost six very formative years away and entered the Hindi Film Industry. Her interest only grew as she got to explore an entirely new and different side to storytelling and production. The same year, Kritika happened upon one of the first VR animated films created. It blew her mind, and since then she’s been dancing down this new and unexplored road of VR with limitless possibilities and no instructions.
Recce The World was borne out of necessity, after understanding the workings of the Hindi Film Industry and the disorganised state of the location market in India. Combined with VR and her love for travel and filmmaking, it all came full circle. Recce The World launches officially in April 2017.
