Madeline Bates

Madeline joined FOCAL International in 2016 as Director of Outreach having previously been Archive Partnership Manager at Creative Skillset where she managed a national training programme for entering the film and TV archive sector in the UK. Her background is in film exhibition and programming in Australia and the UK – she was film program manager for the Perth International Arts Festival and Head of Screenings at Edinburgh International Film Festival. Passionate about the importance of independent cinema and film & TV heritage, she’s a trained visual anthropologist.
