Rob Pieké is the Head of New Technology at MPC, a Global world-leading visual effects studio. Now in his tenth year with the company, Rob has been involved in the development of custom artist tools for dozens of films, from Harry Potter to Guardians of the Galaxy and, most recently, The Jungle Book. Rob started programming in BASIC as a child, and went on to study a degree in Computer Engineering from the University of Waterloo in Canada. With his passion for computer graphics – rendering and physical simulation in particular – the visual effects industry soon caught Rob’s eye, and he’s never looked back since.
