Sue Baines

I am the Proposition Director for Cards (debit, credit and charge) for Barclays HNW and Affluent clients globally. I have worked for Barclays for 26 years with senior product management experience across Retail, Affluent & Private Banking in transactional banking, mortgages, lending, savings, and investments. I was business lead on the teams that: introduced mortgage specialists into Barclays branches; launched the first Barclays fixed rate mortgage; delivered the first packaged bank account. I have also led the banking product workstreams for legal entity separation and acquisition.

I am also the Deputy Chair for Spectrum – Barclays LGB&T Employee Network. I am truly privileged to work with some amazing, talented people across the Barclays Group in the UK and overseas and also with Barclays’ suppliers, customers, and associated charities. I am very proud to be an active member of Barclays diversity & inclusion agenda.

Away from work I have twins – a girl and a boy – that keep me extremely busy. I have challenged myself to do a triathlon next year, and completed novice training recently. I am also looking for my next adventure to top cycling across Tanzania which I did last October to raise money for various women’s cancer charities.
