The Value of Games & Interactive Entertainment

The Value of Games & Interactive Entertainment

We’ve all seen the headlines that games are making more money than film and TV content – but the value of this medium isn’t just the receipts. Games reach a broad range of ages, deliver a different type of engagement and culturally resonate in different ways. But they share similar aspirations to high-end TV, animation and film, they share similar funding models and, at times, share talent. So video games intersect, mimics and contrast with established linear content and they aren’t just high-worth commercial ventures, but they have societal impact, cultural worth and can be more immersive than other mediums. This panel sets the scene on how these sectors coexist and talks to leading games talent drawing these worlds together.
