Nick started his career as a graduate trainee at the BBC where he worked as a producer and director in Current Affairs and Documentaries. He was one of the founders of Lion Television and, as MD, grew the company from a start-up to become a respected and successful independent production company with bases in London, Glasgow and New York.

In the UK he created classic Lion shows such as “Boston Law” (BBC1) and “Britain from Above” (BBC1/2) Recently he has been responsible for factual formats such as “We Are British Jews” (BBC2), “Victorian House of Arts and Crafts” (BBC2) and “Eddie Izzard Marathon Man” (BBC1/3), Arts programmes such as “Offended by Irvine Welsh” (Sky) and “Rebuilding the World Trade Center” (C4) and many documentaries including “British Army Girls” (C4), “The Queen’s Cavalry” (ITV1), “A Very British Airline” (BBC2) and “RAF 100 with Ewan McGregor” (BBC1). He set up Lion’s US operations which have produced many notable shows including “Cash Cab” (Discovery), “History Detectives” (PBS), “Money from Strangers” (MTV) and “America Revealed”(PBS).His programmes have won BAFTA, RTS, Broadcast, Realscreen and Emmy awards.As chair of the ITF and now as a board member of Screenskills he has taken an active role in issues around training, diversity and inclusion within the television industry. Nick is also a board member of The Jasmin Vardimon Company which is one of the leading contemporary dance organisations in the UK.

In September 2021 Nick left Lion after 24 years and is now working as consultant to a number of production companies while also continuing to executive produce shows for UK and US networks.
