Venia has been the director of the Hellenic Film Commission, a directorate of the Greek Film Centre, since March 2017. She represents the country at the European Film Commissions Network (EUFCN) and the Association of Film Commissioners International (AFCI). Venia holds an M.A. in Film Studies and European Cinema from the University of the West of England in Bristol (UK), as well as a B.A. in Communication and Mass Media from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (Greece). Originally a film critic and experienced travel editor, Venia produced Keimena, a weekly broadcast of 40 films presented by the Hellenic Broadcasting Corporation (ERT) and produced by the acclaimed art exhibition documenta 14 which opened in Athens in 2017. She has also worked at the Greek Film Archive as head of communication and film programmer during 2013-2015. Her credits as a co-producer include three films, Wild Duck (2013), Great Eastern (2015) and Amerika Square (2017).
